Leaving Laguna for Naga City

right after resting my head on the pillow, i immediately dozed off. i woke up again in the middle of the night hearing teenagers screaming (more like barking) while playing in the pool. they also sang karaoke. but it didn't bother me much as i had tight sleep after the hot baht.

we woke up seeing it was pouring outside. it'd been raining for more than an hour. but when it was time for us to leave the hotel, the rain surprisingly stopped.

a view from my room

getting ready to check out

i thought the owner of this hotel was some kind of an artist bc both in my room and siena's, the walls were neatly painted. at the reception area was also painted.

after the rain stopped, we walked to the main road to catch a jeepney to Dr. Jose Rizal's shrine.

first thing first; breakfast!

we got off the jeepney in town and looked for a place to have breakfast. siena asked a tricycle rider where we could eat or where the nearest 'Jollibee' was. he told us it was a bit far to walk. so we hopped into his tricycle and in 5 mins, we were in front of a 'Jollibee'!.

then we headed to Dr. Jose Rizal's shrine

Dr. Jos̩ Protasio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda (June 19, 1861 РDecember 30, 1896, Bagumbayan), was a Filipino polymath, nationalist and the most prominent advocate for reforms in the Philippines during the Spanish colonial era. He is considered a national hero of the Philippines, and the anniversary of Rizal's death is commemorated as a Philippine holiday called Rizal Day. Rizal's 1896 military trial and execution made him a martyr of the Philippine Revolution.

when we were there some primary students from a school were having a field trip. they looked cute and curious.

inside the compound sat a mini-art gallery. also some pieces of art were hung along the corridor.

on the second floor of Dr. Rizal's house

i love these old styled wooden framed mirrors.

and this bunkbed

we left Dr. Rizal's shrine around 11 am by a tricycle, dropped off at a fresh market in town and took a jeepney to another town to catch a bus to Naga City. the ride took about 1.5 hours.

famous snack widely seen along the road. it's fried peanut inside.

we stopped to have lunch at the town (i didn't remember the name) we passed through to Naga City.

this is the bus we took to Naga City. it took 7 bumpy hours to get there. we left that town around 3 pm, snaking along mountainous road. stopped for toilet and dinner. finally we arrived safe and sound with carsick (me) at 10 pm in Naga City. (i was so glad that we took a plane back to Manila when we said goodbye to Naga City.)

we stopped for toilet. in the middle of nowhere (bc i didn't know where we were.)

lucky lucky lucky, the hotel we were going to stay was right in front of Naga City bus terminal. we walked sleepily to the hotel. the carsickness was still spinning around my head. i started to recover from it when tang stopped to buy sour mango for us, which made me instantly heal from the sickness. seeing the hotel and its bathroom, i fully recovered and grinned wildely. bc i was going to have a long hot shower and tight sleep in the thick comfy bed. i was so sure that i would hear no scream tonight. sweet dream baby!
